Stitch & Witch with Elli

  • 103-3711 Delbrook Avenue North Vancouver BC V7N 3Z4 Canada (map)

Join us at Bare Refillery on February 12th from 6 to 8pm as we welcome local legend Ellie (long time Bob's Fruit Stand employee), who will be sharing her wisdom and witchcraft around hand work such as sewing, knitting, crochet and more to help us keep the art of ‘using what you have’ alive!

Connecting with one another to create is one of the oldest forms of witchcraft that is slowly being lost. We are becoming a society that relies too heavily on conveniences like Amazon Prime and big box stores that can fill our needs quickly. When we are faced with supply chain issues and the realization that our planet cannot keep up with the breakneck pace of our consumerism, we need to be sure we have the skills to fix what we have, ask for what we don't, and share what we don’t need.

This event is by donation. All you need to bring is your project of choice (a blazer that has lost a button, jeans with a tear or maybe you've been wanting to start a knitting or crochet project?), the willingness to learn and ask questions, and either donation of material, yarn or other another item you've been looking to find a special home for.

Ellie and her sister Kaiya have been working with The Canada Comforts Society for several years, making clothing and other items for children and families in need across the world. If you don't have a project to make for yourself we will help you create something that can be donated to the cause!

Everyone is welcome to this event, and if weather is on our side, we will be holding this outside in the Le Petit Cafe seating as well as inside the Refillery. We ask that you do a daily health check before arriving and kindly wear your mask while inside the store.
